Pearlfisher competition brief 2024: For this year’s creative brief, Design for Life: Once in a Blue Moon, we’re looking for participants to create a distinctive graphic visual identity – one that we wish we had designed ourselves – for a new product, service, or organisation that draws inspiration from a rare or unique phenomenon.

Inital Idea
This project aims to design a brand identity for a bar, themed around the rare phenomenon ‘bioluminescence algae’. The goal is to create a mysterious and futuristic ambience that creates an atmosphere of secrecy and desire to be invited to this secret bar experience.
I want the bar to be an experience. For this, there will need to be a lot of unique aspects to the bar.
The advertising of the bar will be a little different. There will be a lot of secrecy and confusing posts leading up the the reveal. Throughout this influencers will get PR boxes with clues to what this bar experience will be.
After a few weeks of this, there will be the launch party that is invite-only. This will draw attention and make it a ‘must be’ place to go.
The branding for this bar is going to heavily be themed around the bioluminescence algae. As well as the branding colours and imagery, all of the drinks and atmosphere will be themed around it too.
